My mission as a Christian artist and photographer is to use the gifts and talents that he has given me to lead people to his kingdom and give glory to his name.  God has given me a passion for the people of his kingdom that are in other countries and it is my hope to travel the world as a missionary photographer.

This blog is a place where I feel I can share some of my dreams, visions, setbacks, failures and things that I learn as I begin my journey to understand how God will use me to do his will.  I pray that this be a place of encouragement and a place where artists can find that they are not alone in their quest to find and know their place in God's kingdom.

Q: When did you first know that you wanted to be an artist?
A: I have always had art in schooling and many of my family members are very artistic, so from an early age I loved to color and draw and make things.  It wasn't until my at the beginning of my sophomore year in high school that I started to know that I wanted to be an artist.  The teacher I had for the next three years was so encouraging and her room was always a place where students could come and truly create and be themselves.  I decided I wanted to do that for the rest of my life.

Q: When did you realize that God called you to use photography work for his kingdom?
A: When I first began college I was a die hard clay artist.  I took three years of it in high school and was ready to dig deep into it, however after my beginners clay class at university, the curriculum seemed very basic and didn't challenge me as much as I had hoped.  I had really enjoyed my introduction to photography class and so before I signed up for another clay class I prayed and really sought God's wisdom.  It was then that he directed me to take a color photography class and where the series Below came about, I knew then that I didn't want my art to just be pretty and decorative, but that there should be a purpose in everything that I make.

Q: Do you have any suggestions for books or studies I should read to help me on my own journey?
A: Yes! I searched a long time for something that could connect my art with God and found several great books and resources that you can find here at the Resources Page.
