Proverbs 25:28 Reinforce your walls.

I struggle with self control. I am sure a lot of us do. The thing is that most of the time we don't talk about what it's like to be out of control. In fact as humans we love to pretend like we are in control, like we know what we are doing, but in reality we have no clue what's going on and the only one who does is God.

These next few months are going to be a struggle for me I am tackling an area of my life that I have failed in every single way. However I know that God will use this and teach me something and in it with HIM I will overcome.

So how do we protect our walls from breaking down in the midst of our struggle? Simply put, fix our eyes upon the one who knows no struggle, the one who can grant us peace and give us the strength that we need to overcome what is in our way. The one and only Jesus Christ. Let us renew our minds and keep him close at heart that is where we will build up walls that are indestructible, where the enemy will not find a place to infiltrate. We will be secure in Christ.

Prayer requests:
1. Pray that I have self-control and learn how to manage it.
2. This years international Day of prayer for the persecuted church is on October 30 so be praying for the nations to come together and support persecuted Christians.
3. Pray for me that I have a vision for what the future holds Ann that God will show me how to get there.

BSF: The Study of Revelation

This year I am back with BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) studying the book of Revelation. If you haven't heard of BSF before, it is an amazing ministry that meets once a week for a year and you study one book of the Bible for that time. It's FREE to join, just search for a class near you.

To help me remember what we are learning I'm using Bible Journaling to help, here is the piece I created for Revelation 1:12-18. I hope after seeing this  you are inspired to learn more about the Lord.

Revelation 1:12-18 I know it doesn't do Jesus justice, but it reminds
me of how I won't be able to comprehend his majesty until his 2nd coming.
Finding things in my Bible that I've forgotten I've put there.

What are you studying? Do you use a devotional or have a study group? Share below!

Prayer Requests:

1. That I will get more involved in my new church.
2. I took a leap of faith recently, that didn't exactly pan out. Asking that God shows me the next path I should take and what I can learn from being obedient.
3. Pray for the Christians suffering persecution from ISIS, and also the families of those recently martyred in the Oregon shooting.

Until next time.

Created For More

I love being at the bookstore. When I am feeling stressed I window shop the shelves for a while just wandering in and out of the isles. It's a great way to see what is new, what you've already read and see if anything grabs your attention.

During one of my recent trips to the bookstore just happened upon a devotional by Jonathan Malm called Created For More. As an artist I am always searching for devotionals that call me to use my gifts more consistently so when I picked it up and read a few sentences I knew this was for me. So far I am enjoying it. I'm alternating between a few other devotionals right now and I am really loving being creative while I study God's word and renew my mind.

It is a 30 day devotional and each day is broken into sections:
  1. Spiritual Development
  2. Prayer Starter
  3. Change the Way you Think
  4. Challenge

This is my response to Day One. Yes I used a hashtag in my Bible.
I'm still in the first few days of the book, but I'll post more soon.

What is something that you can do to be creative today or even this week? Share below.
